(L)ENDING LINES (2012)
project developed at KHOJ International Artists Association (New Delhi) as part of the RESO' art residency program funded by the Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art CRT (Turin).
A few years ago women only commuters trains have been introduced in India major cities providing safety and comfort for growing numbers of working women, who were experiencing violence and harassement on their daily route to work. With the introduction of 'Ladies' special' trains, the government "has lent" to these women a few minutes of freedom every day. During my six weeks residency at KHOJ international Artists Association in Delhi, I decided to commute every day on Ladies’ special trains and women only metro compartments, carrying out an experimental day-to-day ‘travelogue’.
